Overview

The Field Installation Technician role shares similarities with the Field Installation Foreman position, involving the installation of industrial controls, machinery, and electrical systems. This technician will engage in tasks such as conduit bending, threading, wire pulling, cable sizing, documenting removals, cost estimating, and quoting. Additionally, the technician will collaborate with customers to suggest upgrades, enhancements, or replacements. Control panel fabrication is expected during non-travel periods.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Industrial controls and industrial machinery installation.

  • Conduit bending, threading and installation.

  • Wire pulling.

  • Wire, cable sizing for amperage requirements and voltage drop calculation.

  • Documenting and removal of old controls and equipment.

  • Cost estimating and quoting.

Requirements & Skill Set

  • Ability to read schematics.

  • Knowledge of controls such as PLC’s, DC drives, AC VFD’s, Servos and HMI’s.

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 lbs. up to a height of 3 feet.

  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting skills.

  • Use of hand tools, meters and test equipment.

Education

  • Two-year degree.

  • High school diploma.

  • Trade school.

  • GED to be evaluated.

Expectations

  • Control panel fabrication when not traveling.

  • Ability to travel on-site for extended times.

  • Interfacing with customers to offer possible upgrades, enhancements or replacements.

  • Be punctual and work overtime as needed.

Overview

The primary responsibilities of this position involve daily cleaning and maintenance of facilities, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, window cleaning, and various upkeep tasks. The custodian will also need to maintain supplies inventory, assist with setting up and cleaning for special events, and perform other duties as directed, which may include minor repairs.
