Overview

The Shipping/Receiving position is responsible for the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing hardware and supplies. This role involves inspecting, documenting, and organizing shipments, as well as distributing inventory and ensuring the quality and quantity of incoming products. The Shipping/Receiving personnel must be able to operate a forklift safely and should have basic computer skills for documentation purposes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive and document incoming hardware and supplies.

  • Inspect incoming products for quality and quantity.

  • Promptly unload trucks and deliveries.

  • Organize and schedule shipments.

  • Organize and distribute inventory.

  • Handle non-conforming incoming hardware.

Requirements & Skill Set

  • Ability to use a computer along with Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to read and analyze information, fill out forms and documents.

  • Ability to move, traverse and be on your feet all day.

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 lbs. up to a height of 3 feet.

  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.

Education

  • Two-year degree.

  • High school diploma.

  • Trade school.

  • GED to be evaluated.

Expectations

  • Be punctual and work overtime as needed.

  • Maintain and keep areas clean and neat.

  • Communicate and interface with various department personnel.
